What women want from men? Men have been asking this question for 1000s of years, and there are probably 1000s of different answers for this one question. When it comes to a lasting relationship, what women want from men will surprise you.  So what do women really want in a man?

To find the answer to the question, "what women want from men?", it's far better to observe than to ask. If you ask a woman, what do women really want in a man, she might tell you she wants a tall and handsome young man. But if you observe what kind of a man she chose, you might see a rather plain portly man.

If a woman says she wants a man that’s a “good listener”, why then do you see her with someone who wants to dominate every conversation? Some women say they want to date a man with a terrific sense of humor, but then end up with a guy who has lots of money instead.

So why do women say they prefer one type of a man, but then end up dating or marrying someone totally the opposite? The answer might lie hidden in a woman’s subconscious. Understanding this can dramatically improve your relationship with women.

From a biological perspective, men and women unite in order to propagate the species. So even though having children with the man she is dating might not be on her conscious mind, subconsciously she is looking at every man from a maternal view point: “Will this man be a good father for my children?"

Therefore, even though women might say they want a good listener and a funny man, in reality what women want from men is the ability to support and rear her children.

Women look for men that can provide for them and their children. So what do women really want from men and thus look for in a man? They want a man who can provide a safe, financially secure, and stable home for their children.  Deep down inside, this is what women want from men.

If a woman had to choose between a stockbroker and a teacher, she’d choose the stockbroker based solely on his ability to provide for her and her children financially.

But being a good provider is not enough. She also wants a generous man: a man who will give of himself and his money to her and their children. This is why women place such a high significance on lavish gifts and jewelry.

This also explains why the price of an engagement ring is tremendously important to a woman. When you ask a woman for her hand in marriage, the expensive engagement ring is confirmation of your ability to provide for her and her children.

On the other hand, even though men earn more money from their mental ability than their physical strength and brawn, women still equate physical power and strength with the ability to provide for her financial needs. This is why women will still choose the muscled construction worker over a computer nerd.

So what women want from men are generosity and financial stability.  Women want a man who can provide for her and her future children’s financial needs.

Keep these subconscious needs of women in mind, and you will have the knowledge and ability to engender a successful relationship with a woman.
